Open Positions

The Cole County R-1 School district hires friendly, energetic faces for the following positions. Russellville is 15 minutes from Jefferson City and 30 minutes from Lake of the Ozarks. Positions are open until filled.

 

How to Apply

District Vacancies

  • Substitute Cook - The Cole County R-I School District is accepting applications for substitute cooks.  Daily hours are from 6:30am-1:30pm and will be on a part-time/as-needed basis.

Daily tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Breakfast and lunch meal prep
  • Serving students and staff according to established recipes and portion control standards
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining environment according to food safety and sanitation guidelines

This can be a physically demanding role, requiring prolonged walking and standing, and the ability to lift and carry 20 pounds or more.

Hourly compensation begins at $15 per hour.

Jr/Sr High School Vacancies

The Cole R-1 School District has these positions open for the 25-26 school year.   • HS Science/Mathematics Teacher:  The Cole R-1 School District is seeking a qualified High School Science and Mathematics Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.  Science courses taught will be determined by applicant interest.  Coaching/Sponsor opportunities could be available as well.  
  • Substitute Teacher: To be qualified, you must have 36 college credit hours or a high school diploma and 20 hours of DESE training. Visit DESE's website to learn more about the Checklist for Substitute Teachers. Substitutes for our district are now (effective 10/21/2022) compensated $100 per school day.

 

Elementary School Vacancies

The Cole R-1 School District has these positions open for the 25-26 school year. Special Services School Vacancies

The Cole County R-I School District has the following open positions for the 2026-2027 school year.  Interested candidates should submit an application from the Cole R-I website.  For additional information, please contact Lori Clark, Special Services Director, at (573) 782-3325, or lclark@coler1indians.org.

  • Preschool Paraprofessional - Interested candidates must have, or be able to obtain, a substitute teaching certificate prior to the start of the school year

  • Special Education Teacher (Grades 7-12)

  • Substitute Special Education teacher (Grades K-3) to fill a long-term leave from August through the end of October.  The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in providing specialized instruction and support services.
