Meet our JH/High School Dean of Students
Lucas Branson
The Cole County R-I School District Board of Education selected Lucas Branson to serve as the Dean of Students at the Junior High / High School for the 2024/2025 school year. Lucas will continue to serve as Athletic/Activities Director and head coach for the softball and baseball teams. He has served in various positions in the Cole R-1 school district since joining the district in January 2010. "I am excited for the opportunity to continue building on our strong traditions by focusing on expecting excellence and character building in our students to help them become outstanding citizens," said Lucas Branson.
Work History
This year marks his 24th year in education. The first 10 years of his career were spent in the Linn R-2 school district, where he attended and graduated, while playing basketball and baseball.
The remaining years of his education career have been spent working for the Cole R-1 school district.
Education
Lucas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in History from Lincoln University and will be obtaining certification towards a Master in School Administration.
Personal Information
Lucas and his Amy live in Jefferson City with their son Will (6) and their dog, Calvin. Amy works for the state. She is very active in supporting our students in the Cole R-1 school
district, whether it’s helping with the PTO or cheering on our student athletes. Will attends Russellville Elementary where he will be in kindergarten. In Lucas's free time he enjoys watching the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs, traveling and spending time with his family and being outside grilling for family and friends.
