Meet our Superintendent Mr. Jeff West
The Cole R-I School District Board of Education hired Mr. Jeff West in May 2026 to serve as the district superintendent beginning July 1, 2026.
Mr. West received a Bachelor's Degree in English from Lincoln Universty, a Master's degree in Administration and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Williams Woods. He has a total of 24 years of experience in public education with 14 of those years in administration. He has served as English teacher and coach for Jefferson City and Blair Oaks High Schools as well as assistant principal at Battle and Jefferson City High and finally principal at California High School.

"I am deeply honored to serve as your Superintendent of Schools. It is an absolute privilege to lead the Cole R-1 School District -- a community with a proud tradition of supporting its schools, its teachers, and its students here in Russellville.
My educational philosophy is anchored in a deep commitment to creating and investing in effective partnerships and relationships with our students, staff, and community. I firmly believe that a successful school district relies on open communication and collaborative efforts. As your superintendent, my primary goal is to ensure that our schools remain a safe, supportive, and academically rigorous environment where every student can thrive.
A strong school district is built on a foundation of collaboration. I am committed to maintaining a transparent, ongoing dialogue between our schools, parents, and community to ensure we are always doing what is best for our students and staff. Our success will rely very heavily upon a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students, and a supportive community. Together, there is no limit to what our district can accomplish!
